Meet Our Therapists

Carter Monroe, LCSW

Carter has been a Licensed Clinical Social Worker for the last 22 years, originally working with high risk pregnancies at Duke University’s Medical Center and counseling students at the University of Virginia. After getting married and having two children, she transitioned back to her home state of Georgia to start working in a private practice setting–she has not looked back ever since!

Carter has both a personal and professional interest in issues pertaining to infertility, pregnancy complications, postpartum depression and young parenthood. She has advanced training from Postpartum Support International but the education she’s loved the most has been with her own family. Carter combines her psychoanalytical background with her love for cognitive behavioral strategies and relational work.

Kelly Stephens, LMFT

Kelly works with adult women and couples. She specializes in maternal mental health, postpartum anxiety/ depression, all forms of anxiety, grief and loss, and life transitions. She works with couples who are desiring healthier communication patterns and struggling with escalated conflict.

Kelly enjoys helping couples transition to parenthood, adjust to an empty nest, and navigate the balance of high stress careers with family priorities. She also provides a higher level of therapeutic care and treatment for individuals or couples in affair recovery, experiencing separation and/or divorce, and those needing guidance and support in coparenting across households after divorce.

Kelly also offers equine assisted mental health therapy.
